      READER RESPONSE

DairyBusiness Offers the Industry’s Most Complete System

A primary purpose of advertising is to generate response from the readers. To encourage that response and to provide user-friendly information to advertisers a new response system is in place. It will provide a combination of the traditional reader service card along with new webbased tools.

The Traditional Card
■ Cards and faxes are solicited from readers using the preprinted form appearing in the magazine that correspond to the unique number assigned to each advertisement. Demographic reader information will be appended.

On-Line Web Card
■ To reduce connection time between readers and advertisers, the magazine’s home page serves as a portal where readers can request information in just a few quick clicks. The reader instantly generates leads by checking a box to request more information. Click-thru activity is also tracked when the company or product name is clicked on.

eResponse – Proactive e-mail
■ Each month, proactive e-mail to all readers with e-mail addresses will provide that issue’s reader service offerings from advertisements and new product editorial, specifically to increase reader response.

The subscriber instantly generates leads by clicking on the company link, the product link or by requesting more information. The activity is captured and subscriber data is matched to the lead.

True Response
■ With the ever growing reality of magazine readers turning directly to the web rather than mailing a reader service card, a coded URL is placed alongside each ad, unique to the advertiser and the issue. When the reader enters the URL in their browser, the hit will be recorded, including time and date. The reader is seamlessly directed to the advertiser’s “true” web site.

In all processes, leads are supplied to advertisers in a single, easyto- use lead package, either electronically or via printed labels. Subscriber demographics are supplied including herd size and crop acres.
