California, we have a hearing

The California Department of Food & Agriculture (CDFA) scheduled a public hearing, Sept. 12, to consider temporary adjustments to minimum milk pricing in the state. The hearing will begin at 8 a.m. in the CDFA Auditorium, Sacramento, Calif.
Four California dairy producers organizations  – Western United Dairymen (WUD), California Dairies, Inc. (CDI), Milk Producers Council (MPC) and California Dairy Campaign (CDC) – submitted a petition for a hearing on July 22. In the petition, they requested CDFA to consider implementation of a pricing deal negotiated by the California Legislature, producer and processor organizations. The petition is posted on the CDFA “hearing matrix” website (www.cdfa.ca.gov/dairy/uploader/postings/petitions/). CDFA will make information regarding proposals available for public inspection at the CDFA Dairy Marketing Branch Office on Sept. 5. Questions regarding the call for this hearing should be addressed to Hyrum Eastman or Candace Gates at 916-900-5014. Read more …
