March U.S. dairy cattle exports surge

Monthly U.S. female dairy cattle exports surged in March 2013 to the highest monthly total since June 2012, according to USDA’s Foreign Ag Service. At 6,31 head, March exports were more than the three previous months combined.
Turkey returned as the top destination for U.S.  replacements during the month, at 3,365 head. Mexico and Egypt also imported about 1,400 head each.
Year-to-date 2013, the three-month total of 9,981 head, well behind the export pace set in 2011 and 2012.
