DocTalk with Dr. Dan Thomson

Multimin USA is sponsoring DocTalk with Dr. Dan Thomson as part of Multimin USA `s effort to bring the producers and their veterinarians closer together to benefit future beef and dairy production.Doc Talk will be making house calls each week on RFD-TV at 4:30 pm Eastern Standard Time on Mondays. Dr. Thomson and his guests will discuss important issues related to livestock management, current animal ag research and companion animal health concerns. His guests include nationally and internationally renowned veterinarians that work day to day with food and companion animals. Topics for the first 10 weeks include Trichomoniasis in cattle, first aid for horses, choosing a companion animal, food safety issues, carbon footprinting, keeping our milk supply safe, the use of steroid implants in cattle, breeding soundness exams for bulls, Johne’s disease and equine dentistry and injectable trace mineral pre-treatment of cattle.
Dr. Dan Thomson is a third-generation bovine veterinarian who is recognized internationally as a leader in beef cattle production and health management. Dr. Thomson is the Jones Professor of Production Medicine and Epidemiology and the Director of the Beef Cattle Institute at Kansas State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. He served as the OIE Chair and member of Beef Cattle Production and Welfare committee. Dr. Thomson also teaches cow/calf, stocker and feed yard production medicine, welfare and nutrition at K-State.
