Bob LeCocq received the Bruce Cottington Friend of Dairy Award.
Minnesota Milk recognized Bob LeCocq as the 2013 recipient of the Bruce Cottington Friend of Dairy Award. Bob LeCocq was raised on a 40-cow dairy in east-central Minnesota and is a true friend to Minnesota dairy producers. This has been shown through his passion of helping dairy families be profitable through the use of sound strategic plans and executing on them with their team. Many in southeastern Minnesota have experienced this first-hand through his 33 plus years of service to AgStar Financial Services.

“The analytical thought and expertise Bob brings to Minnesota Milk’s Membership Committee is a true asset to Minnesota dairy farmers,” stated Bob Lefebvre, Executive Director with Minnesota Milk. “His commitment toward building a stronger future for Minnesota dairy farmers is just one of the many reasons why he deserves this award.”

Over $12,000 raised for Minnesota Milk’s Post-Secondary Scholarships.
Two successful fundraisers were held during the Midwest Dairy Expo to benefit Minnesota Milk’s scholarship program. The Wall of Wine fundraiser was a big hit as 94 wine corks were sold in less than 3 hours. Each wine cork was numbered and the buyers were given the corresponding bottle of wine. Wine donations came from Minnesota Milk members, directors and staff.

The annual live Scholarship Auction kicked-off the MDX Gala. Bidding was fast and prices were strong as buyers chased after donated items ranging from cheese and butter gift baskets, vacation and sporting event packages, dairy equipment and more. A special thank you goes to the Mitchell-Przybilla Auction Company for donating their time and auctioneer and clerk services for the scholarship auction.

We would like to thank all of this year’s donors, buyers and sponsors for their generosity and support in raising over $12,000 for the Minnesota Milk Scholarship program. The revenue raised will be used to award students continuing their education in the dairy industry. View the 2013 Scholarship Winners.
