More than 2500 expected to attend Alltech North America Lecture Tours
Over the next two weeks, many of today’s ag leaders will be attending one of 23 stops on the 2013 Alltech North America Lecture Tour to explore the latest advances in nutritional technologies and share ideas for keeping their operations efficient, profitable and sustainable. Alltech’s 28th annual North American Lecture Tour will take place Feb. 12- March 1 and is expected to draw more than 2,500 attendees, many of them for their second or third time.
Warren Woroniecki, owner of Prairie Nutrition Center, near Hebron, N.D., has made the six hour trip to Brookings, S.D., several times to attend one of Alltech’s lecture tours.
“I take time to attend my local NALT because Alltech always takes an innovative approach to combine the latest technology of production, animal agriculture, feed manufacturing and food processing in a time-conserving three- hour presentation,” Woroniecki said. “I have taken home so many ideas the last few years that helped my company grow from applying Alltech’s feed ingredients to solving certain production issue’s to incorporating product marketing in my business.”
Woroniecki’s comments have been echoed by several other returning attendees and even more are expected to be drawn to this year’s dynamic program. The 2013 lecture tour’s theme is Stay Curious and the agenda will feature three presentations that will highlight the latest developments in crop science, rumen nutrition, programmed nutrition, algae applications, fertility, mycotoxins, social media and branding.
This year’s Stay Curious presentations are:
- Branding: 8 Key Principles- Building and maintaining an advantage through branding in an increasingly competitive and interconnected world.
-
Solutions are Interactions: Nutrition at the Cell Level is the Advantage- What we must understand to maximize productivity. If the world record is 72,000 pounds of milk, why do we settle for 20,000+ pounds? Is the grading system out of date? What are the obstacles to maximizing EPS (Efficiency, Profitability and Sustainability)?
- Stay Curious: 7 Challenges to Implement- Algae, can it revolutionize the way we feed? What is a carbon footprint, and why is it important to you? Let’s take a look at our land- how will we feed 9 billion people by 2050?
“You have to embrace new technologies, but you must understand what these new technologies can do. Curiosity fuels solutions. Why not get 25 more pounds of beef per cow per year ? Why not achieve 35 pigs per sow per year? Why not gain one ton more grain per acre?” said Dr. Pearse Lyons, president and founder of Alltech. “We need to ask ourselves these questions. This year, let’s be different. Let’s challenge ourselves.”
