Select Sires’ Thorbahn issues details on Dairy Data Alliance

Writing on behalf of the Council on Dairy Cattle Breeding, Select Sires President & CEO David Thorbahn has issued a letter and background details about the development of a new agreement between USDA and the Council regarding production of genetic evaluations for U.S. dairy cattle. While this process has been underway for more than three years, Thorbahn says his “letter is an effort to communicate this information to all producers.”

“A weakness of this effort is that the reports [from various committees and the Council itself] have not filtered down to all sectors of dairy producers in a complete fashion,” he explains.
