National Dairy Producers Organization plans lawmaker, producer meetings

The National Dairy Producers Organization, Inc. will hold meetings, April 18-25, to discuss industry specific topics with congressional representatives, as well as dairy producers in New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
The meetings will launch Wednesday, April 18, when board members Dennis Trissel, Bob Krucker and Gary Genske will meet with members of Congress and their staffs in Washington D.C. to discuss industry compromise and the Dairy Industry Stabilization and Sustainability Act of 2011 (DISSA). Fifteen senior staff meetings are expected to be held over a two-day period.
Following meetings with lawmakers, National Dairy Producers Organization leaders will host meetings with dairy producers in Virginia, New York and Pennsylvania. Meetings will be held:
• April 20 in Wytheville and Dayton, Va.
• April 23 – Syracuse, N.Y.
• April 24 – New Holland and Peach Bottom, Pa.
• April 25 – Rebersburg, Pa.
National Dairy Producersʼ director Tom Van Nortwick and treasurer Gary Genske will appear at these meetings. Topics will include: achieving producer profitability; 100% USA trademark; the Dairy Industry Stabilization and Sustainability Act of 2011(DISSA); and the 2012 National Agenda.
