Senate Ag Committee Farm Bill markup postponed
PrintThe Senate Ag Committee meeting to mark up the 2012 Farm Bill has been postponed. A new date and time for the rescheduled hearing will be announced shortly.
The meeting had been scheduled for Wednesday, April 25, beginning at 9 a.m. (Eastern) in room 328A of the Russell Senate Office Building. No details were not provided, and the Senate Ag Committee website was experiencing technical problems early on April 25.
U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.), committee chair, issued the following statement following announcement of the postponement:
“The Agriculture Committee has made significant progress and have bipartisan agreement on the bulk of the Farm Bill. We are committed to continuing to work together in a bipartisan way as we come to agreement on a few outstanding issues. This is a bill that impacts 16 million jobs and a huge sector of America’s economy, and it is important that we move prudently to create the best possible product.”
