The Dairy Business Association of Wisconsin (DBA) board of directors is extremely concerned about the requests for rBST-free milk and the potential limits placed on a producer’s freedom to choose and use FDA-approved technologies.

DBA is committed to an efficient, profitable, environmentally conscious and consumer-oriented dairy industry in the Midwest. DBA recognizes that, as an industry, we must provide customers with products they desire. But when processors use misleading label claims, resulting in a consumer’s misperception that all milk is not equally safe, healthy and wholesome, we must speak out.

It sets a troubling precedent to have milk and approved tools of production maligned in this manner. It begs the question of "where will it end?" That’s why we want you to know about Voices for Choices. This initiative is designed to demonstrate to those within our industry that dairy producers are:

1. united in their support of freedom to use FDA-approved technologies and

2. dedicated to hold industry participants responsible for their actions in the marketplace that
damage milk’s wholesome, healthy and safe image.

Processors, cooperatives and dairy producers all bear responsibility to ensure that the dairy industry works together to address these issues, setting a high standard for all to follow.

Now you have an opportunity to make your voice heard by joining our effort. Complete the online form so we can add your name to those who support the Voices for Choices Initiative, an effort coordinated by DairyBusiness Communications and endorsed by DBA.

     Respectfully,
     The DBA Board of Directors
