May U.S. dairy cattle exports escalate
U.S. female dairy cattle exports jumped in May 2013, posting the highest monthly total since December 2011, according to USDA’s Foreign Ag Service.
Russia was the top destination for U.S. replacements during the month, at 3,511 head. Mexico imported 2,744 head, with Canada a distant third, at 183 head.
Year-to-date 2013, the five-month total is 21,121, about 529 ahead the same period in 2012, but 7,372 behind the the January-May total in record-setting 2011.
