Frozen pizza trans fat class action lawsuit

Frozen pizza trans fat class action lawsuit
California is home to a class action lawsuit against some frozen pizza makers, according to TopClassActions.com. A California woman filed a $5 million lawsuit against California Pizza Kitchen and Nestle, owner of the brands Stouffer’s and DiGiorno, claiming the companies are “deliberately poisoning their consumers” by selling frozen pizzas that contain partially hydrogenated vegetable oil, an artificial trans fat that's a “toxic carcinogen.”
Plaintiff Katie Simpson is seeking restitution, disgorgement of profits, corrective advertising and more. The Frozen Pizza Trans Fat Class Action Lawsuit case is Simpson v. California Pizza Kitchen Inc. and Nestle USA Inc., Case No. 12-cv-164, California Southern District Court, San Diego.
