NMC ‘tackles’ mastitis in Titletown

America’s Dairyland welcomed 130 milk quality professionals from six countries and 15 U.S. states for this year’s NMC Regional Meeting, held June 16-18, in Green Bay (affectionately referred to as Titletown). The event attracted dairy processors, veterinarians, dairy producers, researchers, milking equipment dealers, dairy suppliers and students.

The NMC Regional Meeting provided an outstanding opportunity for dairy producers, veterinarians and allied industry partners to gain hands-on experiences and take home practical information to further the dairy industry’s pursuit in producing and marketing outstanding quality milk. This year’s regional meeting included short courses, general sessions, panel discussions, dairy farm tours and networking opportunities designed to foster practical learning and actionable solutions.

The NMC Regional Meeting showcased a variety of topics, including bedding management, animal handling research and training resources, antimicrobial stewardship, dairy markets, animal health and artificial intelligence integration. Additionally, some attendees participated in specialized short courses that addressed milking system evaluations, cow handling and monitoring, pre- and

post-milking teat disinfectants, milking parlor efficiency optimization, milking data-driven diagnostics, on-farm bacteria culturing and milking routine and wash system analysis. Furthermore, some participants toured Shiloh Dairy, Brillion, Country Aire Farms, Greenleaf, and Brightside Dairy, Greenleaf – all known for their excellence in producing high-quality milk.
