AMPI preps for annual Minnesota State Fair activities

Associated Milk Producers Inc. (AMPI)

It’s almost time for the Minnesota State Fair and you know what that means.

Since 1965, the Princess Kay of the Milky Way finalists have been sculpted in butter – 90 pounds of it – inside a rotating cooler for fairgoers to watch. Since 1993, that butter has been donated by the dairy farm families of AMPI.

This year is no different. Cream from milk produced on AMPI member farms was churned into the butter that has once again been donated to the Finalists, keeping a Minnesota tradition alive for another year.

Some things are worth preserving. This is absolutely one of them.
