“The Nuts and Bolts of Climate-Smart Grants” webinar was held last Friday to help dairy producers better understand the Climate Smart Team Grant Program and how it can benefit their dairies. Watch the recording now to get a breakdown of the CARAT Project conducted by The Pennsylvania University and partners to provide climate-smart grants to PA dairy producers. Kaitlin Trout from Trout Brothers Farm also shared a producer perspective on the process. They have received the grant and worked with a technical service provider to develop a climate-smart plan for their farm. Now, they are in the process of deciding on implementation.
Other panelists included:
- Matt Royer, Penn State University, who shared what practices could be funded by the Climate Smart Team Grant.
- Jayne Sebright, Center for Dairy Excellence, who described the three-phase process involved with this program.
- Peter Hughes, Red Barn Consulting, who spoke from the technical service provider’s perspective on the grant.
