Strengthen Management Skills at PDP Dairy Managers Institute

Professional Dairy Producers®

Two-day workshop offers three tiers of training to highlight different management aspects.

Successful dairy farm teams manage more than animals, feed and finances; they also manage the practices they use to develop team members as well as how they collaborate with outside advisors. Dairy Managers Institute®, presented by Professional Dairy Producers® (PDP), is a two-day workshop designed to equip today’s dairy managers with the skills they need to be effective team leaders. Simultaneous Spanish translation will be available for all sessions.

The program will be held Dec. 15-16, 2026, at University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. The training will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Tues., Dec. 15, and conclude at 4:00 p.m. on Wed., Dec. 16.

Dairy Managers Institute features three tiers of course information for participants to choose from, each led by industry experts. Participants will select one of the following tiers:

·       Tier One: Dr. Becky Gross-Stewart, PhD, president and founder of Building Bridges Seminars, will facilitate “Lead and Manage with Insight,” focused on understanding the fundamentals of leadership and identifying the strengths of individual work and personality styles.

·       Tier Two: “Master the Art of Coaching” will be led by Michael Hoffman, founder and owner of Igniting Performance, Inc. Participants will learn strategic approaches to coaching conversations, delivering and receiving effective feedback and building greater ownership in an organization.

·       Tier Three: Dr. Kevin Bernhardt, PhD, agribusiness professor at UW-Platteville and UW-Extension farm and management specialist, and Linda Swindling, founder and CEO of Journey On, will lead “Nail the Financials and Negotiations.” They will focus on the fundamental skills for attendees to strengthen business acumen and become valuable members of their management teams.
