Reduce Long-Term Antimicrobial Resistance
The new phase expands the collaboration into a large-scale rollout and introduces a dedicated research track focused on long-term antimicrobial resistance (AMR) reduction in real-world conditions.
Mileutis, a biopharmaceutical company pioneering biologic and residue-free alternatives to antibiotics and hormones in dairy production, today announced the launch of a major new phase in its collaboration with Yotvata Dairy Farm (of Strauss), partially owned by Groupe Danone. The program
Earlier research conducted jointly by Mileutis and Yotvata demonstrated that Mileutis’ leading product IMILAC™ could effectively replace routine antibiotic use during the dry period while improving milk quality and increasing yield. These results established a strong foundation for broader adoption of biologic, natural milk-derived solutions in commercial dairy environments.
Building on the momentum of the collaboration, this next phase focuses on implementing Mileutis’ IMILAC™ and MILAC™ therapies across the whole lactating cycle and evaluating the extent of the positive impact on productivity in real time. It also introduces a dedicated research track examining how biologic-based treatments replacing antibiotics can help reduce the long-term development of AMR, a critical global challenge as livestock production accounts for a significant share of worldwide antibiotic use.
“This next phase with Yotvata represents a milestone for both of our organizations and for the dairy industry at large,” said David Javier Iscovich, Co-Founder and CEO of Mileutis. “By advancing the collaboration significantly, we can deeply evaluate how biologic therapies not only improve milk quality and reduce antibiotic reliance but help address the global challenge of AMR. This work is essential for creating a more sustainable and resilient dairy future.”
This expansion is intended to generate comprehensive datasets on the use of IMILAC™ and MILAC™ in dairy production, offering insights into sustainability outcomes such as greenhouse gas reduction per dairy farm and long-term AMR reduction.
“Our partnership with Mileutis continues to grow in both scope and importance,” said Ram Srugo, CEO of Yotvata Dairy from the Strauss Group. “Working with Mileutis enables our farmers to
At the farm level, the implementation is offering producers a clear view of how biologics can strengthen herd health and reduce antibiotic dependence.
Eli Dayan, manager of Yotvata farm, shared: “As a farmer managing a herd of around 1,000 cows, there’s immense value in bringing residue-free solutions into daily operations that can improve udder health and reduce reliance on antibiotics. Integrating this approach into our workflow is a major milestone for me as a farmer.”
“Antibiotic usage is something every dairy farmer is thinking about, and non-antibiotic, residue-free therapies give us a real path forward,” said Reuven Pinko, manager of Neve Harif farm. “Integrating them into everyday operations while improving milk quality and yield shows us how we can protect herd health now while supporting better long-term outcomes for the industry.”
IMILAC™ and MILAC™ are core to Mileutis’ mission to transform dairy production through residue-free, peptide-based biologic therapies that improve milk quality and reduce antibiotic usage. These therapies support global sustainability goals by helping dairy farms:
- Improve milk quality and yield
- Strengthen cow comfort and welfare
- Reduce reliance on antibiotics during lactation and the dry period
- Lower greenhouse gas emissions per kilogram of milk
- Enhance long-term farm profitability
Mileutis is an Israel-based biopharmaceutical company developing residue-free, peptide-based biologic therapies that replace antibiotics in dairy production. The company’s flagship therapies, IMILAC™ and MILAC™, improve milk quality, increase yield and support sustainable dairy farming while reducing AMR. Mileutis is building a global portfolio of patented solutions designed to redefine veterinary care and agricultural productivity.
Yotvata Dairy Farm is one of Israel’s leading dairy producers, partially owned by Strauss Group, which maintains longstanding strategic partnerships with global dairy leaders including Danone.
