The new phase expands the collaboration into a large-scale rollout and introduces a dedicated research track focused on long-term antimicrobial resistance (AMR) reduction in real-world conditions.

scale-up comes in response to the success of a prior clinical trial, which achieved a dramatic reduction in antibiotic use and enhanced milk quality. It also responds to global demands for a more sustainable dairy industry and reduced impact from antimicrobial resistance (AMR). The newly initiated real-world study represents a substantially expanded scale study, marking a significant milestone for the advancement of biologic and residue-free solutions in the dairy industry.

Earlier research conducted jointly by Mileutis and Yotvata demonstrated that Mileutis’ leading product IMILAC™ could effectively replace routine antibiotic use during the dry period while improving milk quality and increasing yield. These results established a strong foundation for broader adoption of biologic, natural milk-derived solutions in commercial dairy environments.

Building on the momentum of the collaboration, this next phase focuses on implementing Mileutis’ IMILAC™ and MILAC™ therapies across the whole lactating cycle and evaluating the extent of the positive impact on productivity in real time. It also introduces a dedicated research track examining how biologic-based treatments replacing antibiotics can help reduce the long-term development of AMR, a critical global challenge as livestock production accounts for a significant share of worldwide antibiotic use.

Overuse of antibiotics in livestock, which accounts for roughly 70% of global antibiotic use, is a major driver of AMR. By replacing routine antibiotic treatments with peptide-based, immune-modulating biologics such as IMILAC™ and MILAC™, these trials will generate real-world data on how dairy production can reduce selective pressure for resistant bacteria while maintaining productivity.

This expansion is intended to generate comprehensive datasets on the use of IMILAC™ and MILAC™ in dairy production, offering insights into sustainability outcomes such as greenhouse gas reduction per dairy farm and long-term AMR reduction.
