While NWS has not yet been detected on a Texas dairy farm or in a Texas dairy cow, TAD is closely monitoring the situation and will continue to be vigilant. TAD encourages all Texas dairy producers to implement biosecurity measures on their farms and be vigilant. The spread of the New World screwworm would pose a serious threat to the health of livestock and the livelihoods of dairy farmers in Texas, the nation’s fourth largest milk producing state.
