National Farm Safety Week Starts Sept. 21, Farm Safety Signs & Videos

Center for Dairy Excellence

The Center for Dairy Excellence Offers Farm Safety Resources for Dairy Producers.

With National Farm Safety and Health Week starting on September 21, the Center for Dairy Excellence has new farm safety signs and a series of farm safety videos available to help dairy producers share simple safety reminders with farm employees all year long, but especially during the upcoming fall harvest season. The farm safety resources are available in both English and Spanish.

“Farm safety is important all year long, but September is a good time to refocus and put some extra thought into keeping your employees safe, especially during fall harvest,” said Valerie Mason-Faith, Risk Education Program Manager at the Center for Dairy Excellence. “We’ve added new safety signs to the mix with important messages, and our safety videos are filled with helpful, everyday reminders to share with your team. These resources can help you make sure you have the proper safety precautions in place on your dairy operation.”

To help display safety protocols and simple reminders for your employees throughout your dairy operation, the Center has sets of eight farm safety signs available for dairy producers. The signs are discounted to $25 per set (which includes shipping costs) and include messages like Silage May Fall, Stay Away – Open Pit, Do Not Play Here, Biosecure Area, and more. Sets of English signs and sets of Spanish signs are available depending on the language of your workforce. The signs are ideal for outdoor use and have grommets on each corner for easy display. Visit www.centerfordairyexcellence.org/farm-safety to order a set of signs this fall.

The Center also has a free farm safety video series, sharing fire safety tips, tips for working with chemicals, fall prevention tips and more. The “Seconds for Your Safety” videos, which are approximately 60 seconds in length, are available to help dairy producers share simple safety reminders with farm employees all year long. The videos are available in both English and Spanish. They can be watched and shared easily on a computer or cell phone.

There are 10 safety videos available in both English and Spanish in the series:

  • Tips for Fire Safety
  • Tips for Avoiding Corrosion Accidents
  • Tips for Avoiding Entanglement Hazards
  • Staying Safe Around Animals
  • Staying Safe Around Gasses
  • Staying Safe Around Electrical Hazards
