The Penn State Dairy Science Club is kicking off its holiday cheesebox fundraiser, an annual partnership between the club and the Penn State Berkey Creamery dating back to 1978.
Club members work collaboratively with Creamery staff to pack each box. The cheesebox fundraiser has been an impactful tradition for the club, with boxes shipped to more than 40 states. Proceeds from the sale provide students with affordable opportunities to travel during spring break and explore the dairy industry domestically and internationally. Other funds support club activities, such as youth events.
This year’s boxes contain three cheese varieties of the “Nittany Cheddar” line: White, Yellow and Smoked. The box also includes one cream cheese spread and one pimento spread. Orders will be accepted online until Nov. 30.
Orders can be shipped directly, or boxes can be picked up at the Berkey Creamery from 3-6 p.m. Dec. 10 or from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 12.
Payment should be made by check to the “Penn State Dairy Science Club” and mailed to: Penn State Dairy Science Club, c/o Cheesebox Sale, 439 Shortlidge Road, 109 AVBS Building, University Park, PA 16802.
Those who select Creamery pickup must bring cash or a check.
Supplies are limited, so the club encourages those interested to place orders early. For more information, contact cheeseboxes@gmail.com.
