As a grassroots organization led by dairy farmers, for dairy farmers, we appreciate the outlook she shared on her priorities during the Senate confirmation hearing in January, and her pledge to “ensure agriculture is front and center where decisions are made” on a variety of fronts, including the agricultural economy and farm bill, trade, workforce, nutrition, regulatory climate, and our rural communities.
During her confirmation hearing, Rollins pledged to work with Congress and other department heads to make sure “farmers will be at the table.”
We are pleased to see one of her immediate priorities is to modernize and restructure the USDA, and her positive reaction to Senator Roger Marshall’s (R-Kan.) question about bringing the choice of whole milk back to schools to make school milk great again.
We are grateful in these tumultuous times for her words: “We will follow the data, and we will listen to our farmers and ranchers… We as leaders, as Agriculture, we will work together to understand and solve for these problems.”
ADC stands with our farmers, eager to share our 2025 priorities and ready to work together with appreciation for the new Secretary’s obvious passion for agriculture. She is described as an “independent policy thinker” and a person who can “bring people together to accomplish major policy objectives to make agriculture great again.”
