AGW Statement on Coronavirus (COVID-19) and Travel

A Greener World

Out of an abundance of caution, A Greener World is suspending all non-essential travel for the next 7-10 days. With the lack of clear evidence on where the coronavirus (COVID-19) exists and insufficient information on containment efforts, we are unable to continue traveling with confidence.

While we recognize this may cause some inconvenience, we are taking a precautionary approach. As an organization whose staff, colleagues and farmers include a wider circle of family and friends with children, elderly parents and immunocompromised individuals, we are erring on the side of caution to minimize risk.

We are actively monitoring the situation and have alerted certified farms to this decision. We will be working to minimize disruption and reschedule audits and other travel as soon as we have more information. We anticipate this becoming clearer over the next 7-10 days, and will reassess at that time. Impacted individuals are invited to reach out to our main office with any questions.

A Greener World (AGW) identifies, audits, certifies and promotes practical, sustainable farming systems by supporting farmers and ranchers and informing consumers. AGW’s growing family of trusted certifications includes Certified Animal Welfare Approved by AGW, SalmonWelfare Certified by AGWCertified Grassfed by AGW and Certified Non-GMO by AGW. Each program is designed to have positive and measurable impacts on the environment, society and animals, and to encourage truly sustainable farming practices. AGW’s standards and procedures are robust, transparent and achievable.
