Our 2021 Virtual Stakeholders Summit is currently underway with a record crowd of nearly 600 registered attendees! This year’s event, themed “Obstacles to Opportunities,” started last week with a series of preconference webinars covering animal agriculture and alternative meats, virtual stakeholder engagement, and political affairs in the new administration. The main event kicks off tomorrow and before the first keynote session by Timothy Caulfield, professor of health law and science policy at the University of Alberta on fighting misinformation in the time of COVID-19, attendees will gather around a virtual table for a welcome reception. While nothing beats meeting with people face-to-face, great conversations are happening in the Virtual Summit Event Center, so I am eager for the networking opportunities we have planned. It also makes me even more excited for our 2022 Summit in Kansas City when we can all meet with each other under one roof again!
Until then, we will embrace Zoom meetings for just a little longer as we bring together thought leaders in the agriculture and food communities to discuss hot-button issues and out-of-the-box ideas to connect everyone along the food chain, engage influencers and protect the future of animal agriculture.
