Conservation Connections: An introduction to NRCS resources

All are welcome to a pasture walk at Holm Girls Dairy where rotational grazing is being utilized to custom raise organic dairy heifers. Over many years, Doran and Mariann Holm have found resources at NRCS to establish quality pastures and a grazing plan for their farm. EQIP and CSP cost share programs have helped to interseed pastures, build fences, improve cattle lanes, establish a large waterway, provide woodland management, and fund a hoophouse.

The grazing network within River Country RC&D has provided invaluable advice, support and long lasting farmer friendships through countless pasture walks and local grazing conferences.

Meet other grazing experts and bring your questions. A warm
invite to beginning farmers and new landowners interested in conservation resources. Bring your questions and your kids!

About Conservation Connectors

Conservation Connections: Linking New & Underserved Farmers with Conservation Resources uniquely utilizes a “boots in the field” team of Farmer Connectors to assist these farmers to tap into information and opportunities to create a more successful farm business and cultivate soil health. With funding support from the Natural Resources Conservation Services (NRCS), this project provides outreach and support to historically underserved farmer groups including African Americans, Asian, Latino, Indigenous, veterans and beginning farmers.
