DCHA’s December 3 webinar features creating the most valuable calves

Join the Dairy Calf and Heifer Association (DCHA) for its next webinar – Genetic Focus: Creating the Most Valuable Calves Across the Dairy Herd. Presented by Matthew Cleveland, director, Global Beef Product Development, Genus ABS, this free webinar starts at 2 p.m. Central time on Dec. 3.

Cleveland realizes that maximizing and cultivating the right genetics from a dairy herd is no easy feat, particularly in our shifting and consolidating dairy market. “As we strive to improve the efficiency and profitability of a dairy herd, it’s more important than ever to assess opportunities to tie in a quality beef solution on lower genetic animals,” said Cleveland. During the webinar, he will explain the impact of using a differentiated beef-on-dairy program to drive profitability and give thought to its place in a high-caliber genetic strategy.

Following completion of his doctorate degree in animal breeding and genetics from Colorado State University in 2006, Cleveland joined Genus as a quantitative research scientist in the Genus research group. His early career focused on developing statistical methodologies to incorporate genomics into the genetic improvement program at PIC. For the last six years, Cleveland led the Global Beef Product Development team at ABS, which is responsible for the beef genetic program. The Product Development team sits at the interface between science-driven research and development and a customer-focused commercial business, and is tasked with developing innovative products and delivering improved beef genetics with demonstrated customer value around the world.

The American Association of Veterinary State Boards granted one Registry of Approved Continuing Education (RACE) credit for this DCHA webinar. Thus, veterinarians who attend will earn one CE credit.
