The PA Forage and Grassland Council to host annual picnic and hay show during Ag Progress Days. Deliver samples and stay for a farm tour and dinner!
Hay Show
Hay show samples must be delivered to the Ag Progress Day’s site by noon on Tuesday, August 13th. Samples can be delivered to the J. D. Harrington Building or at the designated Hay Show drop-off Location at the east entrance of Ag Progress Days. If you would like to coordinate a local drop-off location with a Penn State Extension employee, please email PAForageGrassland@gmail.com.
Cash prizes for first through fifth place will be awarded per class: $20, $15, $10, $5, and $3, respectively. All entries in the show will receive a free forage analysis.
The sample entry is Free for current PFGC members and $12/sample for all non-members.

Picnic and Research Tour
On Wednesday, August 14th, at 4:30 pm, you can join the PFGC board and membership at the Rock Springs Research Farm for a picnic and forage research tour. Appetizers will be served at 4:30 pm before loading up and taking a wagon tour of the research facility. During this tour, we will stop at plots and talk to the Penn State facility and staff researching forages. We will conclude the tour back with a catered BBQ dinner and conversation.
This event is held at the Penn State Agronomy Research Farm, 1796 W. Pine Grove Road, Gate D, Pennsylvania Furnace, PA 16865. Registration is $20 for adults. Reduced registration costs are available for children.
