Maytag Dairy Farms today announced that its board of directors has appointed Donald A. Boelens as Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Boelens has previously served as the Chief Financial Officer (’01-’03) and the Chief Executive Officer (’03-’16) of Swiss Valley Farms Cooperative in Iowa, Chief Financial Officer of the Maryland and Virginia Milk Producers Cooperative in Reston, VA, and most recently as General Manager of Wellshire Farms in Swedesboro, NJ.
“It’s an honor to be selected as the next leader of such a legendary brand and company. I’m looking forward to working with the dedicated staff, suppliers, customers and community to continue expanding the Maytag Dairy Farm brand for the enjoyment of generations to come,” said Mr. Boelens.
Maytag Dairy Farms formed the first wheels of Maytag Blue Cheese in October, 1941. Since that time, the Maytag Dairy Farms brand has become one of the most recognized brands on menus across the globe. Today, 78 years after Fred Maytag made the first wheels of Maytag Blue Cheese, the next era of leadership will build on that legacy.
