MFB holds golf fundraiser

All proceeds raised go directly to the MFB Foundation

The Minnesota Farm Bureau (MFB) Foundation held its annual Golf Scramble on June 23 at River Oaks Golf Course near Cottage Grove. Over 90 golfers were among 24 teams to compete in the event, and all proceeds raised go directly to the MFB Foundation. Funds will be used for programs focused on agricultural education, safety education and leadership development.

“The Golf Scramble is a great way to have fun and network while raising money for a great cause. We are appreciative of the generous support from our sponsors and those who participated in the event,” said Ruth Meirick, MFB Foundation director.

The Golf Scramble is one of four major fundraising events for the foundation. The other MFB Foundation fundraisers include the Sporting Clay Fundraiser to be held at Caribou Gun Club, LeSueur on September 9 and the annual auction to be held at the MFB Annual Meeting on Friday, November 20. Farm Bureau’s fourth major fundraiser is the pork chop stand at Farmfest.

The MFB Foundation’s mission is to provide opportunities for supporters of agriculture to invest in people and programs that promote agriculture. Examples of some of the programs currently funded include leadership training for farmer leaders, public outreach and education, educational resources for farmers and county Farm Bureaus and more.
