NY Animal Ag Coalition welcomes Erin Luchsinger Hull

Hull to work in Communication and Crisis Management for Agriculture Advocacy Group

The New York Animal Agriculture Coalition (NYAAC) is proud to announce that Erin Luchsinger Hull has been named the Director of Communication and Crisis Management. Hull is a lifelong advocate for agriculture and has a true passion for helping to share the positive image of agriculture throughout New York State.

“We are excited to have Erin join the NYAAC team,” said Steve Palladino, Chairman of NYAAC and dairy farmer from Lansing, NY. “As an organization we determined our greatest need is in communicating with consumers and helping farmers in their time of need. Erin’s wealth of knowledge, positive attitude, and experience in working directly with farmers will help take our organization to the next level in agriculture advocacy.”

Starting May 1, 2019, Hull will begin contributing to the projects that NYAAC implements and manages throughout New York. As the Director of Communication and Crisis Management, she will represent NYAAC on the New York Dairy Issues Management team where she’ll provide insight to current issues facing the industry, assist farmers in need and develop strategies for communicating to both farmers and consumers. Hull will play a key role in the organization’s flagship program, the Dairy Cow Birthing Center at the New York State Fair, where three calves are born daily and more than 300,000 people come to witness the miracle of life. For the past few years Hull has volunteered her time during the planning and implementation of the Dairy Cow Birthing Center and her role in making it a success will surely continue. Hull will assist in creating two brand new programs called Dairy Dialogues and All-Star Advocates, both programs that help the state’s 4,500 dairy farmers be better advocates for their livelihood in local communities.

 

 

“From the first time I walked into the Dairy Birthing Center 7 years ago, I knew immediately I wanted to work for NYAAC,” Hull said. “Their ambition, mission and education of agriculture matches my passion in life perfectly.  I am blessed to have this opportunity.  I look forward to promoting NY Animal Agriculture to the state and beyond!”

Hull grew up on her family dairy farm in Central New York and has been an avid advocate for agriculture her entire life. Hull has previously worked for Cornell Cooperative Extension as an Agriculture Educator and is also the owner and operator of Lucky 13 Beef in Tully, NY where she cares for a herd of Red Angus beef cows and proactively shares her farm life on her social media pages.

The New York Animal Agriculture Coalition is a farmer founded and funded not-for-profit organization with ambitious mission of working to enhance the public’s understanding of and appreciation for animal agriculture by fostering a dialogue with consumers, engagement with farmers and cooperation among members of the state’s dairy industry. Its board is made of up representatives from American Dairy Association & Dairy Council, Cayuga Marketing, Farm Credit East, the New York Corn & Soybean Growers Association, New York Farm Bureau and the Northeast Dairy Producers Association.
