Raising and Managing Cows for Automated Milking Systems Webinar

Join CCE and Michigan State University Extension on Wednesday, November 16th, from 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm over Zoom

Advancements in technology have made Automated Milking Systems (AMS) a reliable machine that can successfully collect milk. However, as with any other system, management is key to guaranteeing productivity and efficiency. In AMS, cow behavior is a big piece of the puzzle. Researchers have been studying how early life nutrition, environment, and human-animal interaction can affect cow behavior and how cows with different personalities perform in AMS.

We are pleased to invite all dairy farmers that implemented, or are implementing, AMS, stakeholders, and students to the webinar: “Raising and Managing Cows for Automated Milking Systems.” This event is free to the public and will be held over Zoom on Wednesday, November 16^th, from 12:30 pm -1:30 pm (Eastern time).

In this webinar, Dr. Joao Costa, Professor at the University of Kentucky, and Dr. Trevor DeVries, Professor at the University of Guelph and Canada Research chair, will join us to talk about the impact of environment, human-animal interaction, and nutrition during early life on heifers behavior and cow management and behavior traits in AMS, respectively.

We will have ample time for Q&A following the official program, so please bring your questions to have them answered by our experts!
