Resolutions Committee Report
The Resolutions Committee consisted of Daniel Nodolf, Daniel Hague, Mark Bechtold, Glenn Kline, Kent Buttars, and Bruce Dokkebakken. Daniel Nodolf, Chair, presented the following resolutions for action by the delegate body and asked for adoption.
Resolution 1
Whereas, animal identification is recognized as the foundation for data in the dairy production, management, genetics, animal health and public health sectors; and whereas, animal identification needs to be addressed on behalf of the DHI system to ensure that quality data for management and the further advances in research that benefit of DHI system herds. Whereas, National DHIA and its members see the benefit to increased uptake by producers; and, whereas, there is a cost to farmers in time and money; therefore, be it resolved that USDA increase funding for the continued and timely implementation of electronic ID.
The resolution was adopted.
Resolution 2
therefore, be it resolved that USDA and National DHIA work with dairy software companies, tag manufacturers and other invested cooperators, including dairy farmers, to ensure that tag identification reported is valid.

Resolution 3
Whereas, dairy producers have trusted the DHI system and collaborators with our information; and whereas, that information gets more sensitive and valuable; we need to remain diligent in shepherding ownership of the data and whereas it is our duty to honor the wishes of the member in who has access to their data and what that data may be used for. Therefore, be it resolved that timely implementation of the Access and Use for DHI data be accomplished with the cooperation of DHI organizations including data handlers. And be it further resolved, that National DHIA take the lead in providing educational information for dairy producers and for field staff, and propose adding this implementation to QCS standards.

Be it resolved that the 2023 National DHIA delegates and guests express our gratitude with a round of applause to the National DHIA staff for their efforts in planning and implementing this meeting and for their good efforts on our behalf throughout the year.
