The Dairy Signal wraps up in June with presentations from two “rising stars” from the research team of Dr. Luiz Ferraretto, Ruminant Nutrition Extension Specialist, University of Wisconsin – Madison,
including Ben Saylor, Ruminant Nutrition PhD Candidate and Cole Diepersloot, MS Student, Department of Animal and Dairy Sciences. They will share the latest research updates on silage quality and its nutritive value.
Dr. Geof Smith, DVM, MS, PhD, Veterinarian, Dairy Technical Services, Zoetis and Sherry Arnold, Busse’s Barron Acres, Barron, Wis., will share their perspective on keeping calves cool during the summer months. Kristen Coady, Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs and David Darr, Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy and Sustainability Officer, both at Dairy Farmers of America (DFA), will share how DFA remains competitive and innovative on behalf of its dairy farmer members.
Developed by fellow dairy farmers from the PDPW Board of Directors, The Dairy Signal is a weekly series of free educational episodes offering insights and resources for fellow dairy farmers and other food system professionals throughout the value chain. The episodes air live from 12:00-1:00 PM CT each Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday; recorded sessions are available later in the day.

The June 22 episode featured Michelle McBride, Founder & CEO, GoodSport™ Nutrition and Tom Guerin, Research Program Manager, Center for Dairy Research (CDR), providing an inside look at the idea behind the new sports drink made from milk and how the CDR supports these entrepreneurs.
On the June 23 episode, Molly Browne, Education Manager, Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin and Tina Peterson, National Program Manager, Media Appearances, Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin (DFW), shared DFW’s role in driving demand for dairy products while offering tips for different food pairings along with live food recipes.
Dan Basse, Economist and President at AgResource Company, returned to The Dairy Signal on June 24 with a bi-weekly market update and analysis of the most recent ag trends.
Each live session offers attendees the opportunity to engage in open Q&A with the speakers through the interactive platform.
