“As someone who was an active county Farm Bureau member and served in local government, I recognize the value this position will bring to members across the state,” said Zimdars. “We must ensure that our members have the tools they need to successfully advocate for Wisconsin agriculture, and I am excited to help them do so through this new role.”
Zimdars has worked as the Governmental Relations Administrative Assistant for WFBF since February 2024.
“We’re excited to have Nate take on this redefined role as Director of Local Government,” said WFBF Executive Director of Government Relations Jason Mugnaini. “With his background in agriculture and dedication to public service, Nate is well-equipped to support our county Farm Bureaus and empower members interested in local office. His leadership will be invaluable in strengthening our grassroots advocacy efforts and help members navigate local government issues.”
Zimdars grew up on a small hobby farm outside of Ripon, raising sheep and poultry. He attended UW-Fond du Lac and UW-Madison majoring in political science and history. Prior to joining the WFBF staff, he was a Farm Broadcaster with the MidWest Farm Report and a machine operator for Emmi Roth Cheese in Stoughton. Zimdars lives in Madison.
