Online webinar presented by PDPW keeps dairy industry ahead of news and trends

 

New episodes of PDPW’s The Dairy Signal™ will cover the latest research in water quality, large-equipment safety practices and two critical diseases impacting dairy herds. The Tues., April 5 episode will feature an update on research currently underway with Wisconsin Discovery Farms. Guidelines for tractor- and large-implement safety will take center stage on the Wednesday episode, and Thursday’s presenters will delve into culling factors of Johne’s disease and leukosis.

Tuesday, April 5

Learn about the latest on-farm and water-quality research underway at Discovery Farm and hear about the results that may be applicable to dairy operations. Episode presenter will be:

Wednesday, April 6
Planting season is just around the corner; that means safety is top of mind. Hone in on practical safety tips and best practices for working around large equipment. Episode presenter will be:

  • Cheryl Skjolaas, Agricultural Safety and Health Specialist, Center for Agricultural Safety and Health, UW-Madison/Division of Extension

Thursday, April 7

Johne’s disease and leukosis remain important concerns for dairy herds. Learn about new data on these two diseases and the parameters producers should consider to combat them. Episode presenter will be:

  • Dr. Keith Poulsen, PhD, Director, Wisconsin Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (WVDL), University of Wisconsin

The episodes air live from 12:00-1:00 PM CT each Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Live sessions offer attendees the opportunity to engage in open Q&A with the speakers; recorded sessions are available later in the day.
