PDP Smart Dairy Workshop to Explore Value of Artificial Intelligence

One-day workshops set for April 15, 16 offer hands-on computer lab experience

A new workshop from Professional Dairy Producers? (PDP) will give dairy owners and upper-management teams an inside look at the Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies that are increasingly useful in today’s

operations. The PDP Smart Dairy Workshop will show attendees how to evaluate AI-enabled tools, integrate data from multiple sources and create actionable plans that improve performance and manage risk.

Two repeating sessions of the one-day workshop will be held on Wed., April 15, at Chippewa Valley Technical Center in Chippewa Falls, Wis., and Thurs., April 16, at Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center in Manitowoc, Wis. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. and the program will conclude at 3:45 p.m. each day.

“The Smart Dairy Workshop is a unique opportunity for forward-thinking dairy producers to take a deep dive into the technologies that are embedded into so many of the systems they use every day to run their operations,” said Cassandra Strupp, Richfield, Wis., dairy producer and PDP Program Manager. “Experts will

lead attendees through a hands-on, computer-lab style workshop with real-world case studies to better understand how AI technologies, tools and data can help them better analyze information and make decisions for their farms.”

Workshop presenters include Dr. Jeffrey Bewley, PhD, Holstein Association USA Executive Director of Genetics and Innovation, and Miel Hostens, Robert and Anne Everette Associate Professor of Digital Management and Data Analytics in the Department of Animal Science and a visiting professor at Ghent University’s Lab for Animal Nutrition and Animal Product Quality.

PDP Smart Dairy Workshop is accredited for up to 4.25 Dairy AdvanCE (DACE) continuing education credits.
