As we welcome the fall season, there are three upcoming internships for college students who are pursuing careers in dairy and looking to gain real-world experience. Whether they want to enhance their skills at the farm level, gain experience with dairy education and communications, or help share the dairy industry’s story by communicating with consumers, encourage them to apply today. Dairy farms are also encouraged to apply to host an intern next summer.

On-Farm Internship
> What: A 10- to 12-week on-farm summer internship experience to help build the next generation of dairy managers in Pennsylvania
> When: The on-farm internship will take place in the summer of 2027
> Where: Progressive dairy farms in Pennsylvania and beyond
> Who can apply: To apply, students must meet one of the following requirements:
- Must attend a Pennsylvania university
- Must be a Pennsylvania resident attending an out-of-state school
- Must be a high school graduate aged 18 – 25 years old and Pennsylvania resident with an interest in dairy production.

Dairy Education
For undergraduate students who have an interest in dairy education, programs and communications, the Center for Dairy Excellence is now accepting applications for the Dairy Education, Programs and Communications intern position for the summer of 2027.
What: The intern will assist with the continued development of the Dairy Excellence Foundation’s dairy education curriculum programs, including Discover Dairy and Dairy Leaders of Tomorrow, and in planning youth educational events. They will assist with communications and marketing content for the Center and the Foundation and assist with the continued coordination and development of the Center’s on-farm programs. They will also accompany staff on industry events, gain understanding of the Center and the Foundation, and learn more about the scope and scale of Pennsylvania dairy.
> When: May-August 2027
> Where: Central Pennsylvania – Harrisburg
> Who can apply: Students must be entering at least their sophomore year of an undergraduate degree at an accredited college or university. Applicants should have strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills as well as be proficient in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. Some experience in education and communications is preferred. Knowledge and understanding of the dairy industry are an advantage.

Calving Corner Internship
> What: The Calving Corner is looking for interns to work at the exhibit during the 2027 Farm Show.
> When: The Calving Corner at the PA Farm Show takes place from January 9-16, 2027
> Where: PA Farm Show Complex – Harrisburg, PA
> Who can apply: College students must be passionate and knowledgeable about the dairy industry and willing to communicate with the general public.
