A message regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19) and National DHIA Annual Meeting Attendees

To all National DHIA Annual Meeting and DHI Managers Meeting Attendees:

Update from National DHIA 2020 Annual Meeting Coronavirus (COVID-19) Concerns

Those who attended the National DHIA annual meeting and the DHI Managers and QCS Field

Service Advisory meeting in Savannah, GA, the week of March 2-5, 2020, traveled before the expanded concerns were put in place regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19).  National DHIA assumes everyone made it home safely and with minimal risk of coming into contact with the virus during your travels.  In the event that as an attendee you are diagnosed with the coronavirus, we ask you to email Jay Mattison at National DHIA jmattison@dhia.org so other meeting attendees may be informed there is a possibility they were exposed to the virus and can take appropriate action.  Your identity will be kept confidential.

We feel the risk of exposure at the time of travel was very small but are sending this notice as a

precaution.  In the meantime, here are the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s guidelines to help keep you from contracting the virus:

• Avoid close contact with people who are sick
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
• Stay home if you are sick
• Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash
• Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe
• Follow CDC’s recommendations for using a face mask
• Wash your hands often and include the fingertips and under the nails
