In 2020, the Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy set industry-wide environmental stewardship goals and the dairy industry embarked upon an ambitious and groundbreaking on-farm effort in support of them: the U.S. Dairy Net Zero Initiative (NZI). NZI is a learning journey that serves as an essential first phase in helping the entire dairy industry to learn, establish, and validate the pathway to meet the climate change and environmental challenges head-on through a holistic approach to responsible stewardship of natural resources, unlocking dairy’s true potential to address GHG emissions, water efficiency, and water quality on farm and in field. Join us to learn more about the ongoing workstreams and early insights of this multi-year initiative to advance research, analysis, and modeling; establish on-farm pilots; and support scaled impact to propel industry-wide change.
