High inflation, severe weather, and falling crop prices have created a perfect storm of economic challenges for our farmers. We’ve already lost 141,000 farms in just five years, and unless Congress acts now, we could lose hundreds of thousands more. Farmers are not only struggling to maintain their livelihoods, but families across America are at risk of losing access to safe, affordable food.
We cannot allow Congress to keep delaying the passage of a new, modernized farm bill – or other legislative solution. More than 100 days have passed since the House Agriculture Committee passed a bipartisan bill to address the needs of farm and ranch families, yet no further action has been taken in either chamber.
