ARM & HAMMER™ Launches Advancing Sustainability Series on Food Chain Chats

The #ScienceHearted team at Arm & Hammer Animal and Food Production aim to support customers across the food system with the products, technologies and resources they need to achieve their sustainability goals. To further this commitment, ARM & HAMMER recently launched its “Advancing Sustainability” series on Food Chain Chats. This series features sustainability leaders from across the food system, including Lara Moody, Ashley McDonald, Chris Noble and Matt Farrell.

“Our team has been collaborating with key industry leaders to construct next steps in our sustainability journey and help provide resources for those across the food system,” says Ben Towns, Global Business Director at Arm & Hammer Animal and Food Production. “This month, we’re thrilled to welcome four outstanding leaders in the sustainability space on Food Chain Chats to share key insights, including Matt Farrell, CEO of our parent company, Church & Dwight.”

Episode 1: Lara Moody, IFEEDER Executive Director 

The series kicked off on April 5 with Lara Moody, Executive Director of the Institute for Feed Education and Research (IFEEDER). IFEEDER supports critical education and research initiatives to ensure consumers have access to a safe, healthy and sustainable food supply. Moody joined Food Chain Chats to discuss IFEEDER’s work with sustainability and how they are advancing sustainability across the food system.

Episode 2: Ashley McDonald, Assistant Vice President of Sustainability at National Pork Board. 

Ashley McDonald joined Food Chain Chats on April 12. McDonald is the assistant vice president of sustainability development and outreach for the National Pork Board. Prior to her tenure at the National Pork Board, McDonald was the senior director of sustainability for the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA). McDonald joined Food Chain Chats to discuss how the National Pork Board is helping producers meet on-farm sustainability goals, the future of sustainability in pork and more.

Episode 3: Chris Noble, Vice President, Noblehurst Farms

Chris Noble will join Food Chain Chats on April 19 to discuss the Noblehurst Farms sustainability journey. Established in 1960 in Linwood, New York, Noblehurst Farms Inc. is a seventh-generation, multi-family farm with an eye for sustainability and environmental stewardship. The family-run business includes:

• Noblehurst Farms, a 1,800-cow dairy with more than 2,500 acres of land where corn, alfalfa and wheat are grown.
• Craigs Station Creamery, a milk processing facility.
• Noblehurst Green Energy, which produces electricity.
• Natural Upcycling, a food-scrap collection business.

Episode 4: Matt Farrell, CEO at Church & Dwight

The series wraps up on April 26 with Matt Farrell, CEO of Church & Dwight. Farrell has been with Church & Dwight since 2006 and has served as CEO since 2016. Farrell will join Food Chain Chats to discuss all the incredible work Church & Dwight has done as a pioneer and leader in the sustainability space. Tune in on April 26 to learn about Church & Dwight’s sustainability journey that stretches back over 100  years to when they began using recycled materials in packaging.
