CCE and PRO-DAIRY collaboration scheduled for Nov. 9th

The feeder is one of the most critical people on the farm. They control the animals’ diets by providing consistent and high quality rations every day. Accurate animal feeding is key to farm profitability as it accounts for up to 60% of the farm’s total expenses! Farmers, employees, and feeders are invited to attend “Feeder School” on November 9^th in Hornell, NY to learn more about dairy cow nutrition, ingredient management, and gain valuable feeder manager skills.

Bring your family and employees to this hands-on, in-person program that will bring Cornell University and Industry experts to cover topics such as:

• Importance of feed analysis and economics
• Dry Matter and Feeder Math-basics
• Feed Consistency-TMR audits
• Trouble Shooting Mixer Wagons
• Bunker Management, drone demonstration/map out bunk, bunk silo management, packing
• Density & Preservation
• Safety

Everyone is welcome to participate, and this program will focus on skills for managers or employees that work directly with farm feed management. We will offer English & Spanish stations so we can accommodate everyone in one training!
