CDCB Board Convenes, Approves Key Updates

The CDCB Board of Directors met on April 21 and 22 in Columbus, Ohio, for the Annual Meeting and April board meeting. Here are the key outcomes:

  1. The 2026 Producer Advisory Committee was elected. Members will routinely meet over the coming year to support the CDCB Board in the development of strategy, policy, and activity. The 2026 class includes Betsy Bullard, Turner, Maine; Kent Buttars, Lewiston, Utah; Mack Drees, Peshtigo, Wis.; Greta Snider Halahan, Imler, Pa.; David Harvatine, King Ferry, N.Y.; Matt Hendel (chair), Caledonia, Minn.; Brian Houin, Plymouth, Ind.; Eric Grotegut, Newton, Wis.; Glenn Kline, Troy, Pa.; and Rick Roden, West Bend, Wis.
  2. Two new traits addressing calf health – Resistance to Diarrhea (DIA) and Resistance to Respiratory Problems (RSP) – are approved for implementation in August 2026.
  3. Existing female reproductive performance traits will be revised and a new trait – First Service to Conception (FSC) – will be added to the evaluations in August 2026.
  4. New and returning board members Francisco Bobadilla (NAAB), Susan Lee (DRP), Jonathan Lamb (PDCA), and Tony Allen (DRPC) were approved for their respective sector positions on the Board. Bobadilla joins as Paul Hunt retires from this position. Thank you, Paul, for your years of leadership and guidance!
