Dairy Council Of California Welcomes Five Board Members

Dairy Council of California welcomes five board members who are committed to elevating the health of children and families through nutrition.

 

Appointed by California Department of Food and Agriculture Secretary Karen Ross, these individuals will help Dairy Council of California, a nutrition education organization, advance its cause of elevating the health of children and families in California through the pursuit of lifelong healthy eating habits:

• Domenic Carinalliis a second-generation dairy rancher in Sebastopol, Calif. where he runs an organic dairy and has been a leader in the dairy community for more than 50 years, supporting groups like 4-H, FFA, local fire departments, Sonoma County Farm Bureau, and his local church, St Sebastian’s.

 

• Cheryl Fiellois a former high school chemistry and biology teacher who now serves as the quality assurance manager for Scott Brothers Dairy. She grew up on a farm and, in 2019, returned to her roots by merging her passions for science and the dairy community. Fiello resides in Claremont, Calif.

 

• Dennis Roberts of Oakdale, Calif. is CEO of Crystal Creamery, formerly Foster Farms Dairy. Roberts took the helm after serving as EVP/GM North America of Regal Springs Trading. He previously served as vice president of fluid sales and vice president of sales and marketing for Foster Farms Dairy. His career spans more than 20 years in the dairy community, having started in sales with Nestle Ice Cream and Unilever.

 

• Patrick Schallberger, CEO of Hollandia Dairy Inc., was born and raised in Bakersfield, Calif. where his family has been in the dairy business since 1920. Schallberger started his career working at a CPA firm, serving mostly dairy and farm clients. He now lives in Carlsbad, Calif., where he oversees the production, processing and distribution of farm fresh milk and dairy products.

 

• Hem Shahof Fullerton, Calif. is general manager of Alta Dena Dairy. Shah has more than 30 years of experience in the dairy industry, starting in 1990 when he managed the ice cream business for Ross Swiss Dairies. He has been with Alta Dena Dairy since 1995, holding numerous positions before becoming general manager.

Together, these five individuals bring a unique combination of expertise and knowledge to Dairy Council of California’s board, providing invaluable insight to help propel the organization forward.

“For more than 100 years, Dairy Council of California has educated and empowered healthier children, families and communities through its free, science-based nutrition resources,” said Tammy Anderson-Wise, CEO of Dairy Council of California. “While nutrition education continues to fuel our work, we also lead and collaborate on issues that impact health outcomes related to nutrition like supporting food access and finding solutions to achieve health equity. Our new board members will be instrumental in guiding us as we move forward.”
