Carmen Rottenberg is the Managing Director of Groundswell Strategy. Before founding Groundswell, she served as Administrator of USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service, where she led a 10,000-person agency responsible for ensuring the safety of the nation’s meat, poultry, and egg products. Over her 13 years at USDA, she held several senior leadership positions and was instrumental in advancing key initiatives, including the modernization of food safety inspection systems and the establishment and revision of pathogen performance standards.
Miquela Hanselman is the Director of Regulatory Affairs for NMPF, where she leads the organization’s regulatory efforts related to nutrition and public health, including engagement with the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. She also manages NMPF’s involvement with the National Conference of Interstate Milk Shipments, the multi-sector Tuberculosis Working Group and the organization’s internship program. In addition, she serves as the program lead for FARM Biosecurity, which supports the health and safety of dairy farmers’ herds and employees.
