DFA awarded a $22.8 million grant from the USDA

Dairy Farmers of America

We’re #DFAProud to have been recently awarded a $22.8 million grant from the USDA’s Regional Conservation Partnership Program. This grant will help us launch a pilot project to reduce methane emissions on select dairy farms across California, Idaho and Utah through the use of an innovative feed additive. The project also creates a pathway for our farmer-owners to receive compensation through a carbon marketplace for the environmental benefits they generate.“We know that dairy is part of the solution to addressing climate concerns,” Gary Stueve, chief operating officer for DFA’s western region, says. “These funds will allow our farmer-owners to receive value and credit for their efforts.”
