As a result of the drought, the USDA has declared 22 Ohio counties as primary natural disaster areas, with an additional 25 Ohio and West Virginia counties classified as contiguous. These designations allow the USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) to extend assistance to agricultural producers through a variety of programs.

Eligible Counties
- Primary counties eligible in Ohio: Athens, Belmont, Fairfield, Fayette, Gallia, Guernsey, Harrison, Highland, Hocking, Jackson, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, Morgan, Muskingum, Noble, Perry, Pickaway, Pike, Ross, Vinton and Washington counties.
- Contiguous counties eligible in Ohio: Adams, Brown, Carroll, Champaign, Clark, Clinton, Columbiana, Coshocton, Franklin, Greene, Lawrence, Licking, Meigs, Scioto, Tuscarawas, and Union counties.
- Contiguous counties eligible in West Virginia: Brooke, Cabell, Hancock, Marshall, Mason, Ohio, Pleasants, Tyler, Wetzel, and Wood counties.
