Just shy of four years ago, Dr. Kenny Joe Manion and Ken Main joined forces to establish Edge View Genetics at Elite Dairy II. They purchased several of the top Cutting Edge dispersal cattle in the Elite Dairy Dispersal including Delilah and Faye. Both have gone on to win additional championships, Supreme and Reserve Supreme honors at World Dairy Expo respectively.
“Along with the accomplished show winnings,” Wayne Sliker of Modern Associates states, “Elite Dairy II has been busy breeding the next generations of deep pedigreed, high-quality Brown Swiss through their Edge View Genetics program.
As the result of a successful ET and IVF breeding program, the herd is outgrowing the facilities. The time has come to reduce numbers, and this will present many opportunities to select from the highest quality Brown Swiss available – anywhere – anytime.”
The offering will include 50 cows featuring 10 young Excellent cows from deep pedigrees. Also 15 bred heifers and 20 big-pedigreed open heifers sell from outstanding cow families of the breed. Fifteen September and December 2022 show prospects sell as well as a large selection of fancy March calves.
High-producing young cows with individual records to over 30,000 milk as well as two All-American, Excellent brood cows sell. There will be something for every class and level of competition from 4-H club and juniors to the colored shavings and the big time! Friday evening prior to the sale the sale hosts will provide cattle viewing and a complimentary Bar-B-Que. It will be an event that you won’t want to miss.
