Experts to share how to avoid being an activist target at Alliance’s 2019 Stakeholders Summit

The last day to register online for the Animal Agriculture Alliance’s 2019 Stakeholders Summit, themed A Seat At The Table, is Monday, May 6. With animal rights activists becoming increasingly bold and aggressive, it’s important for everyone in the food business to prepare to potentially be targeted. In a session titled, “Protecting our Plates: Are You a Target for Activists?” two experts from AFIMAC with a combined 42 years of experience in security and investigations will share current trends in activism, security considerations and activist tactics. Attendees will leave with a better idea of how to mitigate the risks posed by activist activity.

• Jim Rovers, senior vice president at AFIMAC has been actively involved in the fields of security, investigations and labor dispute for nearly two decades. With a background in manufacturing engineering, he has assisted many Fortune 500 companies in the development of contingency plans regarding security, transportation and temporary staffing. He has worked extensively throughout Canada and the United States on investigation of theft and narcotic issues in the workplace.
• Sophie Cranley, risk mitigation specialists at AFIMAC has become a valued partner to a diverse portfolio of clients. Cranley has been working in the security industry for the past 12 years where she has been an instrumental piece in the launch of two successful technology-based security firms in Canada.
