Feedworks USA, Ltd., has enhanced its research and marketing capabilities with the addition of Katherine Purvis as technical support manager. Purvis will work closely with the company’s suppliers and field specialists, overseeing and supporting research trials while integrating the output of such work into technical marketing formats that highlight the production response and ROI to the customer. She will aid research on monogastrics and ruminants, with primary emphasis on monogastrics.

“As our business continues to grow, so does our need for more support of the research we conduct,” says Pete Wilcock, Monogastric Business Director at Feedworks USA. “Katherine has an extensive background in research and communications and we’re thrilled to have her on our team to participate in research projects across species and help communicate outcomes to the customer.”

Before joining Feedworks USA, Purvis earned her master’s degree in ruminant nutrition at the University of Kentucky, where she was awarded a graduate teaching assistantship educating more than 250 students in introductory animal science laboratories. As a research assistant, Purvis investigated species-specific microbiological and physiological responses to dietary challenges; collected and analyzed data, and communicated the university’s research to industry and the public; and was awarded first place at the American Society of Animal Science – Southern Section 3-Minute Thesis competition.

“I’m honored to join such a skilled and dynamic team at Feedworks USA, and I look forward to helping advance the company’s research capabilities,” says Purvis. “I want to bring an additional perspective in the pursuit of providing science-driven specialty feed products to the industry. I’m grateful to be a part of the commitment to innovation here and the focus on benefits to nutritionists and producers.”

Purvis earned her bachelor’s degree in animal science with a minor in biology from the University of Kentucky in 2023. Her extensive life experiences in animal production include serving as an ambassador for agriculture across the country. She was the United Junior Suffolk Sheep Association (UJSSA) president as well as the National Suffolk Queen. Purvis strives to be
